CSS BIZARRE BACKWARDS 100% ACCURATE Inherited Value CHECK (INVENTED by ME)

  • I INVENTED THIS BIZARRELY EFFECTIVE BACKWARDS CSS CHECKING SYSTEM FOR INHERITANCE, TREES AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

  • THAT I'M PRETTY SURE NO ONE WOULD OR COULD HAVE THOUGHT UP, UNLESS THEY HAD BEEN FORCED TO THROUGH NOCSSterous's NON-SUPPORT of basic per-post CSS, and my reaction to it, by, first, RegExing my own valid CSS Code--backwards to Inline CSS embedded in each Documents HTML, to finally finding an app -- the only one which currently does the same thing -- for presumably 99.9% email Spammers and .1% me, but having done it for a few weeks, it finally occurred to me that it was inserting every rule and inherited rule into these extremely large 'inline rulesets' and that it was doing so, so effectively and completely (better than Eric Meyer's Oracle...HELL, better than Eric Meyer, that I was now able to tell exactly how every element responded to every rule from its root to its last-child and beyond.

  • CSS BIZARRE BACKWARDS 100% ACCURATE Inherited Value CHECK (INVENTED by ME)

  • Pretty exciting if you're addicted to CSS but frustrated by the byzantine and largely unknowable (without a program) breakdown of USED, Implicit, Inherited and blah dee blah values which only 5 people could even boast on a good day to know...

  • i'll post a better explanation later with a link to premailer and jesse's bookmarklet, etc., if anybody's cssrazy enough or interested enough to see for themselves, or if anybody else actually uses Posterous AND hates it at the same time, as much as I do...!  for now this is just a first draft of trying to catalogue what this current layout does with its current stylesheet.

  • take a look at the readout below and the inline css from source as well as some of the surprising breakdowns to their very smallest decimal pointed pixel...

This shows how the computed style of each node differs from the computed style of its parent.

  • The root element, which has no parent, is instead compared against the root of a blank HTML document.
