Le Grand dictionnaire terminologique (GDT), autrefois Banque de terminologie du Québec (BTQ), est un dictionnaire terminologique de l'Office québécois de la langue française contenant plus de trois millions de termes français et anglais (et latins pour la taxonomie et la médecine) dans 200 domaines d'activité.
Le GDT peut être consulté gratuitement sur Internet. Il se veut la ressource la plus complète pour ce qui est des traductions des termes techniques de la langue anglaise.

[modifier] Régionalismes
Lorsque les traductions d'un mot diffèrent en français québécois et en français de France, les deux sont présentées. Par exemple, l'expression « cerebrovascular accident » (CVA) est traduite par « accident cérébrovasculaire » (ACV) au Québec et par « accident vasculaire cérébral » (AVC) en France. Ces deux traductions sont présentées, avec un paragraphe expliquant l'origine des termes, leur usage et leur conformité[1]. Le GDT permet donc aux rédacteurs d'adapter leur écriture à leur public cible, qu'il soit nord-américain ou européen.
[modifier] Rectifications orthographiques de 1990
Le GDT applique les rectifications orthographiques de 1990 aux emprunts et néologismes[2]. Il leur donne aussi la priorité pour autant qu'elles figurent dans les dictionnaires usuels[2].
