Alec Eiffel by Pixies Songfacts

Songfacts:Alexandre Gustave Eiffel is the architect of the Eiffel tower after which it is named. He was thought to have been crazy for wanting to build a phallic-shaped tower. The song his how people are always trying to bring down others and their ideas. (thanks, Eric - Anchorage, AK)

Comments:

This is such a goofy song! (with great pop melodies) Well, the whole album is awesome. I love having a song that features the wrod "aerodynamics". Incidently, the first time I typed this comment in I hit return and it apparently put in my "rating" of the song, which I hadn't set yet so was no doubt a 3, damn. It is beyond 5.

i love what this song stands for. how everyone thought alec was crazy for his design but in the end he turned out right.
- Wayne, Hudson, FL

i love this song. The thing i like most is the chorus in the background. It's so nice
- Iara, Santiago, Chile

He's mostly known by everyone as Gustave Eiffel, but his full name is indeed Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. Google it for yourself if you don't believe me. :- D
- Eric, Anchorage, AK

That is incorrect. The architect of the Eiffel Tower was Gustave Eiffel, not Alec. Who was Alec? Who the hell knows. It's a Pixies song - it doesn't have to make sense.

Songfacts:  You can leave comments about the song at the bottom of the page.Anyone who thinks black rap artists have a monopoly on bad taste should check out this song which was written and rapped by actor George Frangides, who not only looks like Spector but moves like Michael Jackson.
Although it has no F words, N words or words beginning with M that your father wouldn't like, "Phil Spector Is Misunderstood" plumbs the depths of bad taste satirising the death of actress Lana Clarkson at Spector's hands. That being said, the song and mandatory video is an extremely funny take on a man who has had precious little to laugh about since the night of February 3, 2003, and even less since his conviction six years later for the second degree murder of a woman who nobody had a bad word to say about. More thoughtful music fans should check out the tribute song "Lana" by English rock band The Climb. (thanks, Alexander Baron - London, England)
