Procrastinators rejoice: Google has given its guitar "doodle" a permanent home.

The homepage logo, posted Thursday in honor of the late guitarist Les Paul's 96th birthday, features a six-string guitar that can be strummed with a mouse (or a fingertip, for those on laptops). The musically inclined with time to kill can also record 30-second songs.

The doodle -- Google's term for its homepage logos, which usually last a day -- proved so popular that the company brought it back Friday for round two. In the afternoon, the tech giant gave the instrument a home for good.

"Good news for Les Paul fans: his doodle now has a permanent home, so you can keep playing." Google announced over Twitter.

Go to YouTube to check out songs recorded and posted by Google users with amazingly dexterous hands and a knack for strumming with a mouse. Les Paul died in 2009 at age 94 -- if he were still around, even he might be impressed.
