- J'ai adoré ! Encore une fois ROBERT DE NIRO est au top, il joue a merveille son role de comédien raté et déséquilibré pret a tout pour arrivé au succé, il creuve littérallement l'écran ! Une réalisation soigné signé MONSIEUR SCORCESE peu connu mais qui pourtant est l'un de ses meilleurs films pour moi. Jerry Lewis n'est pas mauvais également dans son role de présentateur tv antipathiques certainement a l'origine du malaise de Rupert Pupkin !

The film was a commercial failure for director Martin Scorsese , but the reviews were positive. For filming the scene where Rupert Pupkin (Robert De Niro ) gets into the house of Jerry Langford ( Jerry Lewis ), Robert De Niro remarks anti-Semitic uttered for angry Jerry Lewis who, unaccustomed to the "method" seems to end really angry on screen. In the scene where Robert De Niro and Sandra Bernhard are fighting in the street, people around them watch, amused. Among them, one can see Mick Jones , Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon , members of British band The Clash , and Gerard Depardieu .

Le film fut un échec commercial pour le réalisateur Martin Scorsese, mais les critiques furent positives.
Pour le tournage de la scène où Rupert Pupkin (Robert De Niro) s'introduit dans la maison de Jerry Langford (Jerry Lewis), Robert De Niro proféra des remarques antisémites pour mettre en colère Jerry Lewis qui, peu habitué à la "méthode", semble au final réellement furieux à l'écran.
Dans la scène où Robert De Niro et Sandra Bernhard se disputent dans la rue, les gens autour d'eux les regardent, amusés. Parmi eux, on peut voir Mick Jones, Joe Strummer et Paul Simonon, membres du groupe britannique The Clash, ainsi que Gérard Depardieu.1984 : BAFTA du meilleur scénario original (pour Paul D.
