In early 1981 the Austrian conceptual artist and Punk Rock musician '???' - (his remains unknown) - recorded the song 'One Potato, Two Potato' and hired some dancers for the video shoot. He taped the footage he needed for his film in his own Viennese flat, using a - by then - professional video camera. After that he dubbed the song to a VHS-cassette and edited the film using an analogue video editing system. As the myth goes, '???' went crazy during the shoot of his film: He killed all the actors in front of the camera - using small outtakes of those murders for the finished version. After that, he hung himself, recording that last stunt as the final scene of his film.
ONE POTATO, TWO POTATO was considered lost forever. However, in December 2008 the original (?) video tape suddenly showed up on American eBay, being sold to a private Austrian collector for 899 US-Dollars
