Stats, Resizable Windows, Media Tabs, Auto-Complete! Apture Blog

Stats, Resizable Windows, Media Tabs, and Auto-Complete oh my!

It’s been a little over a month since we launched the Apture Magic Search Bar and the usage has been off the charts.  Well lucky for our publishers we are not resting on our laurels.  Today we have a ton of new features for you.

1. Reporting

Starting today we are emailing weekly reports to our publishers.  The reports containing everything from most searched terms to the number of times their content was shared on Facebook, Twitter and via email for the week from the Apture Search Bar.  The early reaction to these reports have been extremely positive and thank you to all the beta testers who gave us early feedback.

All Mailboxes (Found 1038 matches for search)2. Resizable Apture Windows

We’ve been asked by the community many times to allow Apture Windows to be resized.  Starting today you will notice that you can now resize Apture windows for content like WikipediaYouTubeImagesSlide Share and even Google Maps by dragging the bottom right corner of the window.  The feature is designed to perform flawlessly and quickly on powerful browsers like Safari, Google Chrome, FireFox, but also even Internet Explorer 6.

3. Tabbed Media Browsing

Starting today the Apture Magic Search Bar is getting even more efficient in the way it presents content to surprise and delight your readers.  When results are now displayed  YouTube Videos (unless they are an exact match) and Photos are going to show up in their own tab.  We did this for a few reasons.  First we wanted to make it easier for readers to find that specific video or image they were looking for.  Second we wanted to elevate Site Search results for publishers even higher in the results window when relevant.  With this change Site Search results move up 40% higher in the experience.

4. Auto-Complete

Now when you type in the Search Bar box Apture will suggest topics, people, places and things you might be looking to know more about.  Check out the example video below of the Auto-Complete working on ShortFormBlog.
