To the Congress of the United States:
I am pleased to transmit the 2022 National Drug control Strategy. This inaugural Strategy proposes daring, targeted, and eventful actions to bend the curve on dose deaths within the
immediate term, and scale back drug use and its damaging consequences over the long run.
These actions support best science, evidence, and informationon the market. Through them, we try to
usher in a replacement drug policy focused on people and communities.
This Strategy is that the product of a rigorous methodcrystal rectifier by the workplace of National Drug Management Policy in shut with the eighteen National Drug Management Agencies. In developing this Strategy, my Administration sought-after the input of 2,000 leaders and stakeholders, including everything Congress; fifty Governors; and advocates representing safety, public health, community teams, native governments, and social group communities.
In my State of the Union Address, I identified addressing the opioid epidemic as a part of a unity agenda for the state – one thingthat would bring Americans alongin commission of a goal we all share. As this Strategy lays out, there issuch a lot,a lot of,we can do to expand access to evidence-based barhurt-reduction treatment and recovery services, whileconjointlyworking to reduce the availability of harmful medicine in our communities.
I foreseeoperating the Congress likewise as State, local, and social group leaders as we implement this Strategy.
Together, we are able toproduce safer and healthier communities for everybody.
