For those less technically inclined, a reverse proxy is a piece of software that maintains cached copies of web pages so that the load on our servers is reduced. Displaying these cached copies is orders of magnitude faster than hitting our servers.
Thanks to Varnish, you should be seeing noticeably faster load times on your blog pages.
Note: Varnish is currently not enabled for those of you on custom domains. We are planning to add this in the near future.

passenger was detained and four of Miami International Airport's six concourses along with an onsite hotel were evacuated after a screener spotted something suspicious in a checked bag, authorities said.
A police bomb squad spent hours scouring the airport and passengers had to be evacuated from the complex Thursday night and airport roadways were closed down, police and airport officials said, describing the shutdown of the four concourses as a public safety precaution.
The airport fully reopened just after 4 a.m. Friday before the first scheduled morning departures, which signalled the start of the peak Labor Day weekend.

Cup of tea forces jet to make emergency landing | Reuters
(Reuters) - A British airplane en route to Poland was forced to make an emergency landing in Germany after a 56-year-old woman spilled a hot cup of tea on herself, German police said on Wednesday.
The Ryanair flight from Liverpool to Poznan made the unscheduled landing in the northwestern city of Bremen on Tuesday, local police said.
The British woman was treated for scalding at the airport and released -- but not before the plane resumed its journey without her. She later took a train to Poland, police said.
