Courtney Love has no love in her heart for the latest "Guitar Hero" sequel, and she wants to take her displeasure straight to the courts. "Guitar Hero 5" has been a popular topic on her Twitter account for the last 24 hours. As Kurt Cobain's widow, she claims that his likeness was used without proper consent and that she's planning legal action as a result. "For the record this Guitar Hero shit is breach of contract on a Bully's part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction," Love wrote via Twitter. "WE are going to sue the shit out of ACtivision - we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises." She is actively discouraging gamers from playing "Guitar 5."

"YOU for dismissing me as a LOON, go f---ing play guitar hero commit necrophilia. KNOW you are raping me and my family, mother-in-law child," she posted.

Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, the surviving members of the iconic Seattle band Nirvana, on Thursday issued a statement objecting to the use of the late Kurt Cobain's likeness in the popular "Guitar Hero" video game. "It's hard to watch an image of Kurt pantomiming other artists' music alongside cartoon characters. Kurt Cobain wrote songs that hold a lot of meaning to people all over the world. We feel he deserves better."
Activision said "Guitar Hero secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt Cobain's likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero 5."
"Guitar Hero" is a video game in which players can simulate playing guitar and bass to popular songs.
Cobain, Nirvana's guitarist, committed suicide in April of 1994.

Some of her other tweets are little harder to make out, but it's probably fair to say she is primed for a legal rampage. Furthermore, she is actively discouraging gamers from playing "Guitar 5."

However the allegations turn out in court, Love does not sound like the type of person anyone would want to find themselves in front of on the wrong end of a lawsuit right now.

Yesterday we reported that Courtney Love had posted her discontent with the appearance of Kurt Cobain in Activision's Guitar Hero 5. She had apparently been upset over some legalities of the deal, which she stated had become a "breach of contract..."
Wondering just what was the meaning behind her Twitter update, we contacted Activision directly, asking them about the situation and their response to her lashing out. Here is what they had to say on the matter...

Maybe next time Courtney should really read what she signs...
That seems to pretty much clear things up. While we aren't quite sure why Courtney feels there was a breach, perhaps she wasn't clear on the terms (or more importantly the money) involved. Regardless, it seems she did in fact sign a deal, giving Activision the right to use Kurt's likeness.
Maybe she's just trying to cover her butt so she doesn't look like such a sell-out to those who have voiced their opposition to Cobain being a part of the game. Or maybe she didn't realize Kurt's likeness was going to be used as a full-blown character who would be playing other artists' songs.
Whatever the reasons behind her outbreak against Activision via her Twitter page, it doesn't look like she'd have much of a case against them.
