Notes on Fashion Gross, Michael. (05/1987) Crystal bra shown at the Omni by Andre Van Pier. ”Joan Collins has purchased this,” said Mr. Van Pier’s marketing director, Victoria Vanayerst, who also showed sequined bandeaus and halters made of bugle beads. Which one a customer chooses, Miss Vanayerst said, ”depends on the shape of her body.” Also on the shape of her wallet: the bra will retail for $1,400. For those who find sequined bras a little too cheap, Mr. Van Pier also offers a 24-karat gold shawl for about $2,500, depending, Miss Vanayerst said, ”on the price of gold, of course.”
