Senator John Glenn being punched as he was interviewed by a television crew at a Smithsonian Institution tree-planting ceremony. Mr. Glenn's assailant, Michael Breen, who was taken into custody, had been detained on Tuesday after breaking through a police line and trying to approach Vice President Dan Quayle's motorcade.
A Southwest Washington man who punched Sen. John Glenn (D-Ohio) in the jaw during a television interview Wednesday has told law enforcement officers that in recent months he has had dreams revealing future events, and that he hit Glenn to gain attention for his revelations.
Sources said that Michael John Breen, 31, arrested after he was detained by Glenn, also told authorities that he foresees a massive California earthquake, that the government knows about it and hasn't informed residents.
An affidavit filed in U.S. District Court here said Breen has told officials that he was "guided" by God to try to alert Vice President Quayle about the coming events during a visit to the Capitol ...
