James Brown Christmas

This is an incredible poster that advertises tickets for the return of “The Godfather of Soul” James Brown to Harlem’s world famous Apollo Theatre to perform September 9 thru September 13, 1994 where he recorded “Live at the Apollo 1995.” The neon color 22 X 34 poster pictures Brown and lists many guests who were invited to attend and perform with him including The Famous Flames, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson and Special Guest Rev. Al Sharpton. Other listings on the poster include ticket prices, show time and some of the song titles to be performed including “Please, Please, Please,” “Sex Machine,” “Hot Pants,” and “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag.” Brown’s appearance and album recording was a redux of his self financed appearance with the Famous Flames and live recording of “Live at the Apollo 1963,” which resulting in his achieving national success and fame. During a career that spanned four decades, Brown amassed nearly 100 entries on Billboard's top 40 R & B singles charts. Brown is a Charter Member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the recipient of a special lifetime achievement Grammy Award in 1992. On December 28, 2006 many friends, relatives and a host of celebrities attended a public memorial service for Brown at the Apollo Theatre after his passing on Christmas Day. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
