Lisa DeLeeuw got into acting because of a boyfriend who managed a movie house that showed films. At first recalcitrant, she eventually decided to give it a shot and made her debut in the classics. She appeared in many films from the "Golden Age" of film, and was one of the first performers to sign an exclusive contract with major production company Vivid Video. She won the Film Critics Award for Best Actress in 1981, and was inducted into the Critics Hall of Fame. She left the business in 1987. Besides her red hair, big breasts, and freckles, she wore around her neck a lion's head pendant in almost all her films and pictorials.
