Gov. bobby Jindal has taken a distinguished role within the Republican Party's response to the U.S. Supreme Court call upholding the anchor provisions of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul, exploitation the chance to ingeminate his refusal to expand Medicaid in Louisiana or establish private insurance exchanges.

The governor appeared on the Sunday morning chat show opposite Howard Dean, the former VT governor, presidential candidate and past chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
Jindal, seen as a possible Romney running mate, made identical pledge on a Republican National Committee telephone call Friday, in some unspecified time in the future when magistrate John Roberts, a Republican appointee, led a 5-4 majority that upheld nearly all of the 2010 law, much of that has nonetheless to be enforced.
The court did strike a key mandate that would have forced states to expand their Medicaid insurance program to cover more low-income residents, with the federal government picking up nearly all of the cost. below Roberts' opinion, states will select whether or not to participate.

Individual mandate

after the health care discussion, Gregory asked Jindal his views on The Times-Picayune's plans to scale back its print publication schedule from seven days to three, in favor of a bigger concentration on its online operation.
"I assume the daily newspaper, the written newspaper, plays a crucial role in holding government responsible, uniting our folks, " Jindal said.
