Warning! ELVIS Uses 'FUCK' Word: 'Ode To A Robin' [Reads Orig. Poem: November, 1973]

Elvis Presley

Warning! Elvis uses the Fuck-word!

"As I awoke this Morning, when all sweet things are born, A robin perched upon my windowsill to greet the coming morn...He sang his song so sweetly, and paused for a moment's lull. I gently raised the window, and crushed his fucking skull."

Elvis Presley's Bird Murder Poem

Like a mirror image of Elvis Presley's life, this poem written by the King of Rock 'n' Roll starts with promise and then ends in sudden, unforeseen tragedy.

The handwritten poem -- which was part of a massive Elvis auction-- is called, "Ode to a Robin," and was sometimes recited by Elvis on stage, and at one point used as the answering machine message at his home.

Presley's poem could be yours for -- an estimated $4- &5,000 --

Linda Thompson was born May 23, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee. Linda won several beauty pageants, including the 1972 Miss Tennessee USA title. In July of that year she began a relationship with the recently separated Elvis Presley and immediately moved in with him at Graceland for roughly three and a half years.

LARRY KING: Do you remember Elvis' poem, 'Ode To A Robin' that he told at your house on Old Hickory in Memphis in 1974?

LINDA THOMPSON: RCA tried to buy that from me and I said no. I'd love to hear it. My children were asking about it just the other day and I was looking for my tape. I have it on a little cassette tape somewhere.
(laughs).

That was his favorite poem.

Nora (2000) [NORA BARNACLE: JAMES JOYCE'S WIFE AND GARBAGE DISPOSAL]

First Look Pictures

Director:
Pat Murphy

This period drama is based on the real-life relationship of the great Irish novelist James Joyce and his longtime lover, Nora Barnacle. Aspiring writer James (Ewan McGregor) meets Nora (Susan Lynch) in Dublin in 1904. While she lacks James' interest in literature, she shares his frustrations about the limitations of life in Ireland, and she encourages him in both his work and in his desire to try his hand in Europe. Nora also shares James' potent sexual appetite, and James finds himself at once thrilled by her enthusiasm for lovemaking and troubled by suspicions that she may be unfaithful to him. When James decides to relocate to Trieste, Nora joins him, and they eventually have two children together, but their relationship is often stormy -- James angrily suspects that Nora is having affairs with his brother Stanislaus (Peter McDonald) and their close friend Roberto (Roberto Citran) as he struggles with his writing and battles censors over his masterwork, {-Ulysses}. However, while they have troubles keeping their relationship together, they find that it's even harder for them to live apart from one another. Ewan McGregor served as both star and co-producer for Nora, which was backed in part by his production company, Natural Nylon Entertainment.
