As devoted Jones fan, I want to thank her for his last 30 years.
I attended a concert at the Morpheus in Vancouver in, I think, 1985. As the stagehands were setting up, one of them brought out a nice, rather plain straight-back chair and set it at the right-front corner of the stage. A few minutes later, a poised and elegant lady was escorted to the chair. Immediately after, Jones walked onto the stage looking at her the whole time. After a 6-minute standing ovation from the audience, he and the Jones Boys did a fabulous set. The elegant lady sat composedly throughout, sharing glances with her husband now and again.
I felt like someone I cared about was safe and happy.
