The TITBITS: I Believe [1968 (Singapore) TV Newsreel Clip]
Here is a 30-second television newsreel clip of The TITBITS from 1968. I also slowed it down to their recording of "I Believe" so you can enjoy this rare video clip a second time.
The TIDBITS were SERENE WEE (13 yrs old), her sister MERLINA WEE (12) and their cousin BERNEDETTE DE SOUZA (12).
When the three young girls won the RTS Talentime Competition of 1967/68, they created quite an excitement in Singapore. They drew crowds by the tens of thousands everywhere they made a live appearance.
They won the Finals with "I Believe." The grand prize, a recording contract with RCA. The song was released on their first EP record, backed by The Trailers.
"Tiga Serangkai," Malay for three-leaf clover.
The Stylers (Singapore) - Di Tanjong Katong - Slide Show
Music is from The STYLERS' "Visit Malaysia 1990" album.
This prolific recording group began in the 1960's and thrived through the 70's and beyond, releasing a long string of popular guitar instrumental dance music.
I found these old photos at the National Archives of Singapore website: http://picas.nhb.gov.sg/picas/public/...
The STYLERS' "Di Tanjong Katong" is perfect for this little slide show that shows life in Katong and Joo Chiat area in the early 1960's as I remember it.
Katong Beach and Joo Chiat was where I grew up in the late 50's and early 60's. The area has changed a lot since then, as the slide show also shows the neighborhood as it looks today.
My beloved Katong Beach is no longer where it used to be, but has been moved farther south.

Absolutely: Ugly Model [Morwenna Banks as Old Model]
One of Morwenna's best one-off roles in my opinion, just showing how versatile this woman can be.
She's old, she's ugly and she's extremely posh, but that won't stop her from becoming a model will it? Just mind out for that pencil sticking out of your wotsit, would you mind?
Starring Morwenna Banks as the Old Model, and Gordon Kennedy as the model agent.
This is a clip from the Channel 4 sketch show Absolutely, written by and starring Pete Baikie, Morwenna Banks, Jack Docherty, Moray Hunter, Gordon Kennedy and John Sparkes:
