Back Porch Majority - Mighty Mississippi

"The squeaky-clean folk singers, The Back Porch Majority, were not amused by the sexual hijinks that the Scopitone people added in the background of their performance. There was legal action... and shortly after that, Scopitones were no more. It's fun to watch though! "

Roy Head - Treat Her Right

"The song "Treat Her Right" was released on September of 1965, by Roy Head and the Traits, which reached number 2 on the Pop and R&B charts. Although Roy Head was a white singer he recorded the song in an R&B style, and thus became part of the mid-60's blue-eyed soul movement that also included groups such as the Righteous Brothers and the Boxtops. RH & the Traits are known as a country band that records in a rock-and-roll style, sometimes with an R&B influence. Roy is an accomplished guitar player and the group is known for putting on a good show, sometimes along the lines of a James Brown dance revival. Also, "Treat Her Right," was featured in the movie The Commitments."
