波拉德說攻擊者不發一語，動機不詳，她沒報警，但推測很可能因與賓拉登家族的牽連而遇襲，大家都知道她就是「懷有賓拉登家後代的西方女人」，自她懷孕消息曝光，她常收到恐嚇電子郵件，很多人詛咒她腹中胎兒，甚至揚言要拿刀刺她肚子。

現年29歲的歐瑪是賓拉登與元配所生的四子，年幼時受過「基地」的戰鬥訓練，因不認同賓拉登殺戮平民作為，與父決裂失聯，他在2007年娶了大25歲英國 籍的「某大姊」阿爾薩巴，夫婦倆稱要當伊斯蘭世界與西方國家間的「和平大使」，情意濃時找了代理孕母孕育下一代。
因精神分裂鬧分居 但這段婚姻因歐瑪生病變質，他說腦海中常出現父親的聲音，又亂購物、狂飆車，行為異常，今年7月他入院治療精神分裂，兩人宣告分居。歐瑪獲悉孩子流產後表示「這都是命」，他認為跟妻子已無復合希望。
波拉德念書時曾跳鋼管舞賺取學費，她年紀輕輕已當過兩次代理孕母，不過這次受僱歐瑪夫婦因旅行增加開支，她沒賺到錢，反而還要倒貼250英鎊（約1萬2250元台幣）費用。
