Barbie Benton: "Is it better not to have been born or to have lived for a year or two to have been turned into a fur coat? I don't know" BB

Personal Quote

"I believe that mink are raised for being turned into fur coats and if we didn't wear fur coats those little animals would never have been born. So is it better not to have been born or to have lived for a year or two to have been turned into a fur coat? I don't know."--BB

If we look at the first sentence: Maybe a 5 year old child might ask from her parents that, but to be an adult woman and regard that as natural law, come on! I think some biologist can validly explain to Barbi how and why each animal is in our planet. (minks wouldnt exist if rich women wouldnt wear fur coats...huh?? Gees...)

And the other sentence: she makes it sound like it's a natural law for minks to be killed. I guess animal's right are a new thing to her. On the other hand, it sounded pretty philosophical until she says "I don't know." Now, who would?   Maybe some mink whose gone through both of those life cycles would know. Then again, how can anyone tell anything about not being born?

*lol* This turned out to be a much longer message than what I had in mind. I definitely blame it on the quote.

Well, any comments? Does anyone have some knowledge of Barbi's intelligence? Is that a false quote that imdb has here or does it reflect on Barbi?

 I'm convinced ;D

Have you ever noticed some of the things that have happened to numerous women who appeared in Playboy?

Monroe: Playboy's first cover girl. Died at a young age under circumstances that are still being called mysterious.

Anna Nicole Smith: What more needs to be said? riiiight....*rolls eyes*

Now if you want to comment Barbi's looks you aren't allowed to because one doesn't know her personally?! For crying out loud... lol

Seems like when it comes to reality and the basics of common justice you haven't got the slightest clue. Sorry to say.

Dorothy Stratten: One of Hef's many ex-squeezes, brutally murdered.

Farrah Fawcett: Has had a very erratic post-Charlie's Angels life & career.

Gloria Steinem: Yes, she was once a Playboy Bunny. You can look it up. When she was in the spotlight with the feminists' movement, she was controversial. Now, she's completely off the radar and totally irrelevant.

Joey Heatherton: Almost totally forgotten and now suffering from Anorexia.

Chyna & Sable: These two former WWF Divas both wound up having a falling out with Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman, and they now fall under the Where Are They Now? category. Is Ashley Massaro next?

Barbi Benton: Another of Hef's former squeeze toys, from reading the posts here, it appears that is what she'll be best known for. Numerous attempts by Hefner to make her a star fell flat.

Kristine DeBell: After appearing on Playboy's cover as a just-raped Alice in Wonderland, her acting career, while not exactly nowhere, did nothing for her name value. In fact, her acting career is presently non-existent.

Romina Danielson: Known as The Passion Flower in the "infamous" Joan Collins/Peter Holm divorce in the 80s, she appeared in the "keep an eye on" section in the back of Playboy after telling "her fans" that she would be on the cover. The fact that she needed to be explained shows how things went.

There's always an exception to the rule:

Dale Bozzio has enjoyed a large measure of success as the lead singer of Missing Persons. Hef can be proud of this one.

Is there a Playboy Jinx? Sure seems like it.

She recorded country and pop albums.I was a huge fan of hers during the mid 70s I remember seeing her on lots of guest spots and Hee Haw.

But does anyone remember the short-lived Sugar Time? Such a cute show, it should've been given more of a chance. I still even remember the theme song :)

Also, does anyone remember the ads she did for either The Catskills or The Poconos resorts?? She was so cute it had a little theme "come to my country place" I remember that song, too.

My husband is too young, I asked him about both and he looked at me like I was crazy. :)

Despite her love liaison with Playboy Magazine's Hugh M. Hefner, Benton never was a Playmate of the Month, though she did appear on some covers and in various pictorials

Is portrayed by Rebecca Herbst in Hefner: Unauthorized (1999) (TV)

Moved to Los Angeles when she was 16 and found some jobs modeling. Barbi met and started a relationship with Hugh M. Hefner in 1968, when she was only 18 years old. Hef was 42.

Here's a message for reo musician, you sound like a jerk. I'm gay and I love Barbi...you must be fun to live with. Secondly, I don't believe everything I read, quotes can be taken out of context. The few interviews I have heard with Barbi she seemed fairly intelligent. She was kind of the Britney Spears of the early 70's except she had and has ten times more class and charisma then any of these bimbos today. Plus for being in her late 50's looks better than most women half her age. Just because you don't agree with a post you don't have to start name calling, that only shows what kind of a person you are and does nothing to support your argument.
