Also up for grabs is one of the original whips used by Indiana Jones actor Harrison Ford during 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.'

And Star Wars fans can bid on an original Stormtrooper helmet from the 1983 hit movie 'The Return of the Jedi'.

Elvis Presley's Martin D-28 guitar was played by 'The King' during a performance at the Las Vegas Hilton in December 1976.

Elvis, who died eight months later, gave the instrument to his bodyguard Sam Thompson in January 1977.

On the back of the guitar is some plastic residue where the belt on Elvis's jumpsuit melted because of the heat of the stage lighting.

Described as 'one of the most significant guitars to ever reach the market', the lot is expected to sell for up to £50,000.

The colourful Michael Jackson costumes were all worn by the young King of Pop and his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon during their 'Jackson 5' days.

They include a yellow tie-dye shirt worn by 13 year old Michael as he sang 'I'll Be There' on the first episode of Diana Ross' own TV show in 1971.

The shirt, part of a lot which also includes outfits worn by Tito and Marlon, is expected to fetch £12,000.

The most expensive item of Jackson clothing is a red V-necked jumper encrusted with red rhinestones worn by Michael at the 1981 American Music Awards.

Michael wore the jumper over the top of a white silk tuxedo collar and a black bow tie as he accepted two awards for his first solo album 'Off The Wall'.

That lot, which also features a white fedora hat with 'Michael Jackson' stamped in gold inside the hat band, is expected to sell for up to £36,000.

The Profiles in History auction also includes some stunning items from the silver screen including the bullwhip and the Stormtrooper helmet.

Both are expected to fetch up to £30,000 when they go under the hammer.

Action movie fans can take their pick from outfits worn by Mel Gibson during 'Braveheart' or Russell Crowe in 'Gladiator'.

The William Wallace tunic should sell for around £6,000 while Aussie star Crowe's costumes could sell for a massive 21,000 pounds.

Another outfit on offer is the 'groovy' purple and red suit worn by Mike Myers in the 2002 'Goldmember' film.

The suit is expected to sell for £4,000 while a Dr Evil outfit from 'The Spy Who Shagged Me' should fetch 5,000 pounds.

Arnold Schwarzenegger fans can bid on two screen-used lots from the 'Terminator' films.

A leather costume, including the jacket and trousers, could sell for up to £37,000 while a set of mechanical eyes from 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day' should fetch £7,000.

The biggest of the items on sale is a 16ft 10ins tall, screen-used Bumblebee robot from the 2007 film 'Transformers'.

Weighing almost 1,500kg, the giant robot was used in the scene where stars Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf meet the Autobots for the first time.

It is expected to sell for up to £50,000.

Also on offer are a range of outfits worn by Fox and LaBeouf and the original Chevrolet Camaro that transforms into Bumblebee.

The outfits should sell for between £180 and £3,000 while the yellow car could fetch up to £10,000.

Jim Carrey's mask from the 1994 film 'The Mask' is expected to sell for 3,600 pounds.

One of the more unusual items is an original, screen used ET puppet used, not in the hit movie, but in the British Telecom commercial.

Made of steel, aluminium and resin with a silicon outer skin, the puppet is expected to cost around 18,000 pounds.

Joe Maddalena, 48, president of auction house Profiles in History, said: "This sale features 1,200 unique pieces of Hollywood history, from the silent era to modern sci-fi classics and everything in between.

"We are pleased to offer an amazing collection of Michael Jackson pieces including his signature stage-worn clothing from the beginning of his career in the early 70s.

"Following the King of Pop we have the King of Rock and Roll, with Elvis Presley's personal guitar used on stage in his final Las Vegas performance.

"We have breathtaking pieces from Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Ghostbusters and incredible items from the Transformers movies."

The two-day auction starts on October 8, in Calabasas Hills, near Los Angeles in the USA.
