It marked the end of a remarkable 12 days since the King Of Pop died on June 25 and left the entertainment world in mourning. By the next day it had emerged that Jacko's frail body had been full of a cocktail of prescription-only drugs - which meant his doctors would be questioned.

In the days that followed, a host of stars paid tribute to him at to him at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset. Also the true state of the singer's condition became known. He was revealed in his autopsy to be completely bald and weigh just 8st 1oz.

Then footage which had never been seen before was released showing Jacko rehearsing for his This Is It tour which was set to open at London's O2 later this month.

The next day it was announced there would be a lottery for public tickets to the memorial.

And on the day of the memorial it was announced that Britain's Got Talent child star Shaheen Jafargholi was to sing at the service, joining a line-up including Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey.

Here we outline those final closing chapters in the story of the King Of Pop - which showed he could still make the headlines after his death.
