New Blogger
I finally was allowed to move my blogs from the old blogger to the new blogger. Hopefully you will experience no changes at all. But who knows?
Over at PCL I have already started labelling the posts. I am not sure if I am going to do that here. I think that would be a rather difficul quest. I have never been a fan of labelling music. But I'll think about it.
Anyway.... If you notice anything not behaving like it should please tell me about it.
On with the show!

Jimmy Scott - Slave To Love
"The great Jimmy Scott performing a Bryan Ferry classic. Including a wonderful interview with David Byrne at the end. This was recorded live for Sessions At West 54th Street. Rare and hard to find. Enjoy."

Charlie Parker & Dizzy Gillespie - Hot House
"In 1952 Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie appeared on a New York TV show to receive DownBeat Plaques from Earl Wilson and Leonard Feather and then play 'Hot House' with what appears to be the regular studio group of Dick Hyman piano,Sandy Block bass and Charlie Smith bass. This appears to be the only footage of Bird actually playing, and not miming."

Ulf Carling/Carlings - Caravan
"From a jazz club concert in 1990 somewhere in Sweden we see a performance of the Carling Family from Goteborg.Father Hans introduced his kids from a vey young age to all the different aspects of jazz and each youngster specialized in one or more instruments. In this clip they feature youngest son Ulf on drums. 11 year old Ulf started in the band when he was six and cymbals had to be placed in such a way that he could reach these easily.Ulf obviously studied the many great drummers and in this feature in Caravan one notices several of the "licks" obviously learned from drummer Jo Jones. Ulf certainly has a talent for bringing effects and with a sense of humor as well.Although the band sounds a bit thin without the bass in the ensemble, the harmonics are fine and delivered with great jazz feeling. ..."
